Cold is not a disease but a symptom that suggest low immunity of the body. Technically speaking cold can be taken up as the allergic reaction that is being caused due to certain allergies that lead to the secretion and irritation of the mucous lining of the upper respiratory tract.

1. Drink extra liquids (water, tea, juices, or chicken soup) to evade dehydration. Staying hydrated will keep the moist linings of your nose and throat from getting dry. This will lead to the mucus will stay moist and flow out of your body. (A runny nose is always better than a blocked nose.)
2. Take healthy diet that will boost up your immunity.
3. Use a mist humidifier (stream) to keep the air moist. This will help avoid the fragile linings of your nostril and throat from drying out.
4. How to cure a cold with salty water. Gargle with salty warm water to soothe your sore throat pain as this will contract the mucous membranes in your throat and reduce the pain from inflammation.
5. Take extra vitamin C or ascorbic acid that may shorten the duration of your cold. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid also may work as a natural decongestant.
6. Apple Cider Vinegar – It’s been said that Apple Cider Vinegar can help to decrease your chances of contracting a cold by taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a bowl of water at breakfast and another with the main meal of the day every day.
7. Take hot showers to ease nasal blockage. Steam will shrink the mucous membranes in your nose and throat and assist mucus drainage.
